定食王の紹介

新宿のど真ん中に、こんな“定食の逃げ場”が残ってた。派手じゃないのに、ちゃんと満たしてくれる場所。

新宿のビル3階。
マンションの一室みたいな扉の先にある「大人食堂」。
創業約7年の、隠れ家食堂。

ここ、定食の設計がうまい。
ご飯は白米・玄米を選べて、量も選択OK。
さらに“小鉢を2つ選べる”のが地味に嬉しい。
今回は、ブロッコリーとかぼちゃサラダをチョイス。
こういう小さな選択肢があるだけで、嬉しいって気分になる。

そしてメインは、お店のおすすめ角煮。
ほどよい硬さで、甘すぎない。
噛むとじわっと旨みが出て、ご飯が勝手に進む。
で、大根。
これがまた芯まで味が染みてて美味しい。

しかもここ、昼でも夜でも定食が食べられる。

都会の喧騒から一歩だけ離れて、
深呼吸できるみたいな一食。

「最近ちゃんと食べてないな」って人ほど、刺さると思う。

Right in the middle of Shinjuku, I found a real teishoku hideout.
Nothing flashy—just a spot that quietly fills you up and makes you feel reset.

It’s on the 3rd floor of a building.
Behind a door that feels like an apartment is Otona Shokudo—a hidden teishoku place that’s been around for about 7 years.

What I love is how well the meal is set up:
You can choose white rice or brown rice, and even pick your portion size.
And you get to choose two small side dishes, which is such a nice touch.
I went with broccoli and a pumpkin salad—simple, but it makes the meal feel personal.

For the main dish, I had their recommended kakuni (braised pork belly).
Tender with just the right bite, not too sweet, and packed with deep flavor—your rice will disappear fast.
And the daikon radish?
Soaked all the way through with the sauce. Honestly, it’s so good.

Best part: you can get a proper teishoku for lunch or dinner.
Step away from the city noise for a minute—this meal feels like taking a deep breath.
